On the afternoon of Tuesday, May 7, 2024, the symbolic first column of the automated high-bay warehouse was placed, in the presence of Mayor Kris Declercq (CD&V) and numerous EUTRACO customers.
“Although we originated in this region, this is the first major project we are realizing here with our own resources,” said CEO Serge Gregoir.
A brand-new site will soon be added to the logistics landscape in Roeselare.
And this site will be anything but ordinary! It will be a climate-neutral and fully automated high-bay warehouse, built in-house. In addition, a second traditional logistics building will also be constructed as part of the total solution we are developing here. Together, the facilities will offer a storage capacity of 45,000 pallet spaces, 39,000 of which will be in the high-bay warehouse. The choice for Roeselare is no coincidence — with Paulig, one of our largest customers, located nearby, this is a strategic move. The project comes with a price tag of no less than 50 million euros.
Trucks will be able to drive directly to the new buildings via the Krommebeek Park. All shuttle traffic to and from customers will be fully electric. At our new site, 20 to 25 new employees will also have the opportunity to join the team.
Thanks to our partners for helping bring this project to life: Körber Supply Chain for the automation, Stow Group for the racking, and the great collaboration between MG Real Estate and Willy Naessens Industriebouw.
