Driving the transition to net-zero logistics

At EUTRACO, our commitment to sustainable transport is fully aligned with EU ambitions such as the European Green Deal and the Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy. While the EU targets a 90% reduction in transport-related greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 and a 55% CO₂ reduction by 2030, we aim to go even further.

Our goal: a net-zero carbon footprint in logistics and road transport by 2035.

Our Transport Strategy

EUTRACO continues to raise the bar for sustainable transport by modernizing its fleet and optimizing operational efficiency. The company is actively investing in vehicles that meet the latest Euro 6 emission standards, while advanced telematics systems help monitor and improve driving behavior resulting in lower fuel consumption and reduced emissions. In addition, driver training programs focused on eco-friendly driving and smarter logistics planning minimize empty mileage and maximize transport efficiency.

The core of our sustainability roadmap lies in the electrification of our heavy-duty fleet (HDV).
In a bold move, EUTRACO is electrifying one-third of its fleet with the purchase of 50 full-electric Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 trucks. First deliveries are xpected by the end of 2025

With this milestone, EUTRACO becomes the first logistics provider in Belgium to operate an electric fleet of this scale.

This decision reflects a deep, strategic commitment to sustainable transport.
With a range of 500 km and fast-charging capabilities, the eActros 600 fits perfectly into EUTRACO’s core transport operations

SERGE GREGOIR

2023
Start of smart purchasing of electric HDVs
2025
Complete stop on the purchase of diesel HDVs
2035
Target for a 100% electrified fleet, based on a natural rotation cycle of 8–10 years

Energy Goals and Infrastructure

Charging Infrastructure

All new logistics facilities are equipped with battery charging points, solar panels, and energy management systems to support this transition.

Renewable Energy Usage

75% of our energy should come from renewable sources, supported by solar panels installed on our own sites.

Emission Reduction Target

With this approach, EUTRACO aims to exceed the European Commission’s Heavy-Duty Vehicle (HDV) target of a 65% reduction in emissions by 2035.

Reducing Empty Mileage and Optimising Efficiency

Reducing Empty Mileage and Optimising Efficiency

Sustainable transport is not just about the type of vehicle — it’s also about using it smarter. That’s why we continuously invest in:

  • Empty mileage reduction programs, improving route planning and truck utilisation
  • Real-time emission dashboards for our customers, offering full visibility into the environmental impact of their transport flows
  • Behavioral tracking technology in all EUTRACO trucks, empowering drivers to adopt safer and more fuel-efficient habits
Looking ahead

Looking ahead

As we evolve towards a low-carbon future, innovation remains a key enabler. From smart route optimisation to transparent emissions reporting, our transport services are designed to meet the highest environmental standards — today and tomorrow.

At EUTRACO, sustainable transport is not a trend. It’s a responsibility.
